This page has been printed from the Yarrow Place website http://www.yarrowplace.sa.gov.au
This part of the website has information for people who have been raped or sexually assaulted. It doesn't matter if the rape was some time ago or very recent.

If you have been raped or sexually assaulted please call our 24 hour number 8226 8787 or 1800 817 421 to speak to someone. During normal office hours (Mon - Fri 9 - 5) this number is answered by Yarrow Place staff who can direct your call to the Duty Counsellor. After hours, on weekends and public holidays this number diverts to Sexual Assult Crisis Line who will provide brief counselling and referral to Yarrow Place during office hours or to the on-call Crisis Response Worker for recent sexual assault.

Yarrow Place is a South Australian service for people 16 years and over who have been raped or sexually assaulted. If you are under 16 years of age you can contact Side Street (8202 5871), The Second Story (8232 0233/1300 13 17 19) or Shopfront (8281 1775) to receive a service.

Yarrow Place can provide medical care, including collection of forensic evidence. We provide counselling for victims/survivors of rape and sexual assault and their families, partners and friends.

We train other workers to assist people who have been raped or sexually assaulted.

From the menu above you can see information about medical care, counselling, legal issues and how to support someone who has been raped or sexually assaulted.

Please note that some of the content in this section may trigger an emotional response. Ways to manage this include

  • Having someone supportive with you when you read it
  • Printing it out and reading when you feel able to do so
